This is my second article about the different applications you can use to link your Twitter and Facebook Accounts. Type in “Twitter” into the Facebook search box. Select the first Twitter application that comes up, it is my understanding that this application was created by Twitter. The Application Icon will look like the picture on the left. Next, Click on “Go to Application”.
The next page asks you to “Allow Access.” If you decide that this is your choice, click “Allow”. Otherwise click on “Leave Application.”
The next screen you will see after clicking “Allow Access”, states, “To add the Twitter application, you need to log into your Twitter account.” Log in to Twitter through this Facebook application.
With this application will be able to update your Twitter status from your Facebook account.
Through this application you can also choose to update your Facebook Wall through your Twitter account by clicking on the “Allow Twitter to Update Your Facebook Status” button. Then click on the “Allow Status updates” button.
To test this out, open up another window in your internet browser and log in to Twitter. Then update your Twitter Status and see if it shows up on your Facebook Wall.
If you need to remove this application, go back to this Twitter application page on Facebook, and scroll down the page. On the left hand side of the page, under the “Fans” Box, you will see a link that states, “Remove Application”. I hope this helps.

Two weeks ago, I established my Facebook Account. I was learning how to use Facebook and began to research how to add my Twitter Feed to my Facebook Profile. In case you would like to know how to do this, here is one of your choices.
After looking at the different applications available, I decided to research Selective Tweets, previously called Selective Twitter Status. This application was created by Andy Young, the Co-Founder of www.GroupSpaces.com.
This is an application that allows you to control what tweets are added to your Facebook account. When you use Selective Tweets, add #fb to your tweets, and then only these tweets are added to your Facebook account.
You can use this application for your Fan Pages too. However, if your updates are Protected, this application will not work for you.
The upside to Selective Tweets is the control that this application gives you. The downside to this application is that it takes up 3 of your 140 characters on Twitter.
For more information on this application, please go to this link http://www.facebook.com/selectivetwitter?v=infoThis Facebook Page will provide you with all the information, the reviews, and Support instructions for the Selective Tweets application.
There are more Twitter applications available for use on Facebook. I will write about these other applications in a series of blog posts.

Did you realize that Mobile Browser Access to Twitter has jumped 347% this past year? This figure comes from the March 3, 2010, Press Release from comScore, Inc. Their study was based on “social networking access via mobile browser”. Twitter is perfect for Text Messaging due to its 140 character limit.
“Social networking remains one of the most popular and fastest-growing behaviors on both the PC-based Internet and the mobile Web,” said Mark Donovon, comScore senior vice president of mobile. “Social media is a natural sweet spot for mobile since mobile devices are at the center of how people communicate with their circle of friends, whether by phone, text, email, or, increasingly, accessing social networking sites via a mobile browser.”

Last weekend I got a chance to use Tweet Chat during the New Life Event presented by Shawna Fennell. Tweet Chat is an application created by Brooks Bennett. It was used as a Chat Room during last weekend’s event. This application enabled the participants to filter the twitter stream by adding the hash tag #nle.
You can go to Tweet Chat and add the hash tag for the conversation that you would like to follow. You can just follow the thread to see if it is a conversation that you would like to join. When you decide to join the twitter conversation, all you have to do is login with your twitter ID and password. Then just start tweeting as you would normally do, and the hash tag is automatically added to your tweets.
Once you are logged in you will see a tool bar where you can pause the twitter stream, set the refresh speed, add user controls, toggle the font and share the link. This is a great tool to use for Gatherings, Webinars and Conferences.

I was just wondering how you found out about Twitter. I heard about Twitter last year on Dave White’s OLA-Radio Show. I remember how excited Dave was about this new site. He encouraged all of his listeners to sign up and to follow him.
I did some research and signed up. Then I had to figure out what to Tweet about. A friend of mine suggested that I start following people who were experienced with Twitter, and then retweet some of their tweets. So, that is exactly how I started using Twitter.
Twitter is the one Social Networking and microblogging service that I would recommend to all people. It is a Great Site and it’s free!
